Welcome

BECOMING A CHRISTIAN
Since the Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden, mankind has been separated from God spiritually. Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is the most important "LIFE" decision you will ever make. Doing this reconnects us to God spiritually and frees us from the guilt, power and penalty of sin in our lives. There is truly life after death. Receiving the FREE gift of salvation, Jesus Christ, gives us eternal life. Rest assured that Jesus Christ is coming again for all His followers. His dying on the Cross provided eternal life, freedom from the penalty of sin AND healing for our bodies. Christ's shed blood saved us all from sin and His stripes provided healing from all sickness and disease.

Becoming a Christian is simple. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and believe in your heart that God resurrected Him from the dead.

Romans 10:9-10
"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness (right standing with God) and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

To be sure you live eternally with God, you can say this simple prayer:

"God, I thank you for making provisions for me to live with you forever. My sin is what separates me from you and to be reconciled to you, I must go through your only Son, Jesus Christ. I say to you now that Jesus is your Son and I sincerely believe you raised Him from the dead. That same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that will change my life forever. Thank you for saving me. I accept Jesus Christ as Savior of my life. Amen."

The first thing you should do now is locate a church to attend that believes in and teaches the whole bible. Hebrews 10:25 instructs us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together as some are in the habit of doing. You are welcome to visit us at IBOC anytime.

To begin your relationship with God start with these four things:

1) Pray daily
You do not want to be in relationship with someone you cannot talk with. Be real with Jesus. Don't try to use fancy words just because you've heard others use them publicly. You can begin by simply thanking Him for helping you through the day and for saving your life. Your prayer life will grow.
2) Read the bible
Begin reading a few passages beginning in the New Testament and move on from there. This will give you insight into Jesus' earthly ministry. Don't try to tackle the whole bible in a week.
3) Get rid of your critical spirit
Be positive regarding the church services and the people you encounter there. All believers are still maturing in Christ on one level or another.
4) Forgive
Start releasing people from the bad things you perceive they have done. The Christian's enemy is Satan, not people. Not forgiving others is spiritual poison and this causes you to be bitter. Watch your life take on new meaning as you allow God to help you forgive others.
