FAQs

My Question Is:

What type of church is IBOC?

The Inspiring Body of Christ Church is a ministry birthed by God through Pastor Rickie G. Rush, D.D. We have no denominational ties. We are guided by and identified with God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit, under the leadership of Pastor Rush.

How many members attend the Inspiring Body of Christ Church?

IBOC's early days began with a team of 9 people who assisted Pastor Rush with plans for the new church. We received 63 charter members and have since grown to 10,000+ members. We are a "great big, little church filled with love".

How long has IBOC been in existence?

Our church began in the summer of 1990 and continues to flourish through God's power.

What should I wear?

There is not a strict dress code but we do ask that your attire be decent and in order. You may find members wearing dresses or suits, some jeans with the latest IBOC T-shirt, and still others in pantsuits. We are concerned with your spirit on the inside not how you look on the outside. Please use your best judgment.

How early should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 30 minutes early. This gives you ample time to park, be greeted and get yourself prepared for worship.

Who are the people that attend IBOC?

There are many people from all races, walks of life and background that call IBOC home. You may find a homeless person sitting to your left and a business executive to your right. This ministry's aim is to minister to all people. God is the One who changes people's lives so we ask Him to send whomever He desires. No one is turned away or excluded.

Is there a "Children's Church"?

No, we do not offer a separate service for children. God blessed children with parents to teach them. What better example to set for your children than for them to sit with you and experience your worship & praise to God!

Is there a difference between your three services?

No, only the start time. There is just as much praise, songs, and teaching of the Word in one service as is in the next. We are on fire for God always.

Do you offer child-care during services?

No, we do not. The Mary L. Rush Children's College (for infants and toddlers) is a child-care service open Monday through Friday, for academic purposes and spiritual development.

What is Monday School?

One word describes our Monday School services - SIMPLICITY! This is a bible-study for the IBOC family and visitors to come together to receive clear, simple biblical teachings which apply to our daily lives.

Do you have a radio ministry?

Yes! Listen for us on KGGR 1040 on the AM dial, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Catch Pastor Rush also on KHVN 970 on the AM dial, Sundays @ 11:30 a.m.

May non-members enroll in the College and/or Christian Academy?

It is a possibility. Strict guidelines are in place so please call to make an appointment with our Pastor and school administrators.

What should I expect from your worship services?

Expect to be blessed by God's Word and be in His presence. There is an atmosphere of freedom, joy, love, deliverance and praise ever present.

How do I get involved with a ministry of the church?

You must first be a member of IBOC for at least 6 months. Listen for announcements in service or browse through our IBOC Today section on this site.

Why must one be a member of the church at least 6 months before being in a ministry of the church?

God's intent is for members to understand their primary reason for attending church. That is, to be equipped with God's Word and be in the fellowship of other followers of Christ. Our desire is for you to understand that ministry work in the church is secondary. God expects His people to be committed, dedicated, & rooted in the Word before beginning any ministry work.

Is there a singles ministry?

That depends on your definition of "single". When God made each of us, His decision was to make us whole, complete and single. You can be a part of our "singles" ministry each Sunday and Monday as we are taught strong, powerful words of God and how to apply them to our daily lives. Whether one is married or unmarried, he or she is single - that is, whole & complete. God created us in His image and likeness.
